Refuge in the Ruined Tower: Finding God as a strong tower

The storms outside leave us standing in the midst of ruin. Our once-sturdy foundations have crumbled, leaving us feeling lost and shattered. But what if our strength wasn’t in a physical structure, but in a timeless God?

(Psalm 46:1) Jesus is our refuge, our rock, and our fortress, so in Him we have peace even when things are crazy. It’s easy to lose sight of this truth as we go through life’s turbulent waters. We may feel like the stone crumbling beneath our feet, unable to grasp the solid foundation that will hold us up.

…but what if God isn’t just a distant memory? What if He whispers words of encouragement and comfort in our darkest moments, reminding us that we’re never alone?

“He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.” (Psalm 91:3). God is not just a distant observer, but he’s an active participant in our lives. He watches over us, protects us, and keeps us safe.

When we look at the ruins of our lives, it’s important to remember that it’s not us who needs fixing, but the structures themselves. Not the broken pieces, but the master builder who creates something new from the shattered pieces.

(Ezekiel 39:7) “For I am the Lord God, and this is My name; My glory will never fade.” These words remind us that our strength lies not in us, but in the presence of the living God. He is the one who can take the fragments of our shattered lives and weave them into something new.

The timeless truth is crucial as we look for refuge in the midst of ruin. We can’t settle for anything less than the solid foundation of Jesus Christ. For in Him, we find the strength to face life’s challenges, comfort to weather its storms, and hope to rebuild our shattered lives.

What if God isn’t just a distant memory or a faded echo in a world torn apart by chaos and destruction? What if He whispers words of encouragement and comfort in our darkest moments, reminding us that we’re never alone?

We need to remember that Jesus Christ is our refuge, our rock, and our fortress. He holds everything together, and in Him, we find peace.
