Stop Preaching to the Choir

Have you ever spoken to someone who was not already a Christian about Jesus? Yesterday, last week, last month, or has it been longer than you can remember?
I am an Evangelist. I have attended many churches in many cities and states. I have noticed is prevalent in every church I have attended and even among Evangelists. People love preaching to the choir.
I get it. It is far more comfortable to preach to the saved than to face the potential criticism of people out in the world. However, as Christians, we are called to follow Christ’s example. Did Christ cloister himself with his disciples and hang out with righteous men who believed in him?

No, Jesus and pals hung out with beggars and street rats, the poor, forgotten, and shunned. With that in mind, as Christians, we should be out talking to skeptics and non-believers about Christ and his gift of eternal life. Our brothers and sisters with whom we talk about the Lord in church or Bible study?
Or should we do our best to show others God’s love and not constantly shove condemnation?

Even the simplest of things can make all the difference in a person’s day. Tell someone to have a blessed day. Slide God’s teachings into your everyday conversations. I don’t mean randomly blurting out Bible verses. Jesus calls us to be an example to others.

People are tired of others claiming to be Christians and proselytizing everyone who walks down the street. I guarantee you nobody has had someone Bible-thumping at them that they are going to hell for whatever vague biblical reason.

We all fail at this from time to time. There has only been one perfect man in history, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Did Christ cloister himself with his disciples and hang out with righteous men who believed in him?

Let your life be the proof of his love.
