God Loves You My Fellow Freaks.

God loves everyone. Including those labeled as freaks by society because they are misunderstood, unconventional, and do not conform to society’s expectations of who or what a Christian should be. The Bible shows God’s love for those who exist on the fringes of society. As it says in 1 Corinthians 1:27, “God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and the weak things to shame the strong.” Jesus Himself was an outcast, befriending sinners and outcasts (Matthew 9:10-13).

Consider the story of Zacchaeus, a despised tax collector, shunned for his greed. Yet Jesus sought him out, dined with him, and transformed his life (Luke 19:1-10). Or Mary Magdalene, plagued by demons, yet chosen as a devoted follower (Luke 8:2). God doesn’t see “freaks”; He sees beloved children, each uniquely crafted (Psalm 139:14).

It is in God’s unconditional love that people of all kinds, regardless of their appearance or lifestyle, find a place to belong. A Christian’s promise of grace does not conform to societal standards and expectations of what they should look like or find beautiful. As Romans 5:8 declares, “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

John 13:34-35 states “John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another, just as I have loved you, so you also must love one another. By doing this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” God’s love embraces those the world rejects. The rebels and the runaways. The renegades. People are forgotten and ignored. He strengthens and comforts victims who stand proud.

God loves you no matter what others say. And all He wants is for you to love Him back.

Until Next Time: Courage.
