Welcome to Assembly Bethesda
Founded and led by Hain Fogarty, a disabled Goth and ordained evangelist with an unwavering passion for sharing God’s boundless love with all, Assembly Bethesda is a Christ-centered, Bible-believing ministry. Through every possible medium, including video, audio, web, and beyond, we are dedicated to spreading the gospel and demonstrating God’s unconditional love.
Our goal is to reach hearts far and wide with the transformative power of Jesus Christ, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey or how they identify.
Assembly Bethesda is a place of refuge for people who feel out of place in typical religious settings because it is not confined to the walls of traditional churches. This ministry is for everyone, whether you are a church-going Christian or someone who has never felt comfortable sitting in a pew, whether you are LGBT, a Goth, a Punk, a geek, or any other group society labels as “different.”
This ministry embraces those who have been told, explicitly or implicitly, that they do not belong in God’s family. It affirms that God’s love knows no bounds.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest,” Jesus says in Matthew 11:28. These words are a beacon of hope for the weary, the marginalized, and the misunderstood. Likewise, in John 13:34, Jesus commands, “Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you should love one another as well.” This is the heartbeat of Assembly Bethesda: a love that mirrors Christ’s own, without caveats. Regardless of how socially awkward, unconventional, or cast out one may feel, we believe God’s grace extends to everyone of His children.
Hain Fogarty’s personal journey as a God shapes this ministry’s unique perspective. As someone who has felt the warmth of being “different,” Hain is called to minister to the outcasts, the freaks, the savages, the infidels, and everyone in between who has been told they don’t fit the mold of what a “child of God” should look like. At Assembly Bethesda, we celebrate individuality and reject the notion that you must conform to a human standard to be loved by God. You are enough, just as you are.
You can come as you are, whether you’re wearing black eyeliner, a leather jacket, or a pocket protector. Bring your doubts, fears, quirks, and dreams. Assembly Bethesda is a place to find rest, experience love, and celebrate Jesus in a community that values you, sees you, and welcomes you. It is our goal to spread God’s Word, break down barriers, and create a family rooted in the belief that God loves all of His children, regardless of their background.
